Friends provident was commended by the judging team for continual product innovation, evidence of post-sale customer attention (resulting in higher retention levels), solid distribution channels and the use of financial plans to educate customers.

Commercial Lines Broker: SUN INSURANCE
A very competitive category. One of our judges said: "Sun Insurance displayed that they are an innovative and dynamic company that show a good track record of developing insurance products to meet the needs of the business community."
Personal lines broker of the Year: Global Eye
Global Eye was praised for developing innovative marketing and communication tools with clients that makes them stand out in the market. They have developed an effective dialogue with their clients and use effective online features.
Corporate Social responsibility: DAMAN
Described by one judge as demonstrating "exemplary performance in each of the categories the company was judged in", the winner addressed seven distinct domains of pressing social issues in their CSR initiatives. Numerous, creative and vibrant examples of how to live a healthy life were demonstrated with strong and effective slogans and campaigns.
Medical Insurer of the Year: Axa
Axa was praised for its commitment to staff training, outstanding customer service and reaction to market needs. Transparency of products to customers was also a notable achievement, as well as a quick turnaround of claims and prompt pre-authorisations.
Reinsurer of the Year: Gulf Re
Gulf Re was praised by one of the judges for its commitment to product innovation and demonstrated an effective development strategy.
TPA of the Year: NEXTCARE
Nextcare was praised for providing innovative and reliable services across the UAE.
Public Awareness Campaign of the Year: TA’AMINA
The creation of the wise and lovable "Ta’amina" cartoon character represents a landmark initiative to educate and engage with insurance consumers. The "Ta’amina" series of practical insurance guides have been enthusiastically supported and embraced by the Bahraini insurance community including the Central Bank of Bahrain and the Bahrain Insurance Association
